Hearing Loss Awareness Training

Hear for Norfolk offers high-quality training based on the latest research to help organisations and individuals understand the impact of hearing loss. Through presentations and interaction with our experienced trainer, participants learn simple ways to make communication easier for those with hearing difficulties. In addition, the sessions give an introduction to some of the hearing technology and supplementary listening technology available for people with hearing loss.

Hearing Loss Awareness Training (HLAT) increases the understanding of the challenges faced by people with all degrees of hearing loss in the workplace and in social settings. Within Norfolk, it is estimated that there are 201,500 people with hearing loss (2019 ONS estimate), which equates to 22% of Norfolk’s population. Their difficulty in hearing may not always be evident to those they meet, but it may have severe impact upon their ability to access to work, education and socialise, leading to isolation and poor emotional wellbeing.

Training can be delivered at your own venue or at our accessible training room. Please contact us for more information.  We also run training sessions for individuals at the Hear for Norfolk offices for only £25 per person including tea, coffee and all materials.
